What are you thankful for??

Today as I began to prepare for a Thanksgiving meal I was helping to provide for, my emotions was all over the place. In the last few years my holiday has changed and changed a lot. Now I am considered one of the elders. The elders that I grew up with is no longer around. They have all gone on home to be with Christ. When I looked around it just seemed unreal to me. When did I grow up so much that I am now the grown-up?  I now have two Aunts and 3 Uncles, plus my mamaw, that is it in my family. Yes I have a sister and a brother, but like me this is it.

I have always loved family and loved deeply. Family is one of the most important things in my life. I have always wanted to keep the family together. But time shall have it's day. God always know when to take and when to give. However I know that I am not the only one that has to realize this. It happens to all of us. Each of us will eventually go through this.I thank God for allowing me to morn this morning, to work through my fee…

Happy Thanksgiving

Here it is, another turkey day. We want to wish each and everyone of you that follow my blog a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING, from out family to yours.

Remember to always be thankful for what you have today. Because we are not promised tomorrow. Ephesians 5:20 - Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

I pray you have a blessed day. Your bellies get filled and you have a peaceful rest after all is said and done.
1 Thessalonians 1:2 - We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

No Gentlemen any more!!

So what has happened to all the Gentlemen?? I tell you what. I had to go into two different restaurants tonight and order food. One right next to the other one, walking distance.  So I go into the Chinese restaurant, pick up my order , go next door to the Fish House and get my order there. When I turned to go out of the fish restaurant There were 2 men standing next to the door. Here I was with both hands full and do you know not one of them offered to move and open the door for me.  UGGGGG!! What has happened to men opening doors for women, and helping out when they see a woman with her hands full.  So men WHAT happened to being gentlemen?? I know women can be independent and such,,but GEEZE!! help a lady out when you can. Just because we are in 2017 doesn't mean manners was thrown out with the bath water.

Where are all the gentlemen at??  WHERE!!!

Day 8 November Photo Blog

Howdy y'all!! Today has been one of them days. Ya know,,want to get things done and never can. Well that happened today of course.  But I did manage to remember what today's photo was to be. Today's photo is to be of "In my Cup"  Well that could have went two ways but I stuck to what I think they were really meaning. Here is my picture !!
Can you guess what's in the cup?  A old Southern favorite. We even had a feud here in the USA over it, the Boston Tea Party of 1773, where some disguised as Indians destroyed an entire shipment of tea that was sent over by the East India Company over the Tea Act. Which the British responded harshly to this and then came the Revolutionary War. There is a bit of history for you.
But us southerners, we love our Tea sweet, ice cold, and served with lemon or mint. I can take it either way, today with lemon. i love Tea. I have friends in the north that drink it mostly warm. I even have friends over seas that do that the same way. O…

Day 7 November Photo Blog

Today couldn't have been more fitting. Today's photo is to be of Home Remedies.  As of last night my lil guy became sick with cold like symptoms. You know the coughing, stuffy nose, fever, chills and so on. So what does this mama do? Well I slather him up last night in a homemade chest rub made from essential oils. Today I have made sure to keep the chest rub on him and have also put some Stress Away on him so it would help him to rest. But here is today's picture.  When people get sick around here we try to use something that we have on hand instead of running straight to a doctor and creating a bill.  So in the picture above there is Raw Honey (local), Apple Cider vinegar, Lemon Oil, Stress away oil, Lavender Oil, Peppermint Oil and Panaway Oil.  These items and more that I have are used in several different ways. I have said in earlier post that when my family can be organic, we do. I try to buy the things that we can afford to be organic when I find it on sale. There a…

Day 5 & 6 November Photo Blog

So as you all know as I stated before I take Sunday to enjoy with my family and try not to blog.  So I missed yesterday for posting my picture for the photo challenge from Mother Earth News. The picture was to be of a house plant.  I couldn't just choose one so I took a picture of a few of them. I have yet to bring them in. I need to but I have severe allergies and really need to take them down to the basement. I really love house plants.

Today's photo challenge is to be Fall Smells. Well I love the way the air smells in the fall, it has a crispness in it. But as far as smells that I like, especially in the house, I have 2 favorites.  That would be pumpkin pie and apple pie spice. Which are two very similar smells.  But you can make a difference in them. They remind me of holidays and family.
May this be a blessing to you and yours.

Condolences for the Texas First Baptist Church Shooting

This blog post today goes out to those in Texas that was affected by the shooting at the First Baptist Church yesterday.

There was 26 killed and 20 wounded from this terrible attack inside a church. My prayers go out to each and every family that is involved.

There is no way that I could ever imagine going to church and not ever coming home to my family or being one of the lucky ones and having to face my family to tell of ones that didn't make it.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray right now in Jesus name to give guidance and comfort to those hurting, to those that are wondering WHY, to those that have lost and have seen evil and need help to understand. God we know not the Why ,just what is being broadcasted, but Lord you know and you can calm a mighty storm in the lives of these families. God place you hand upon those that were wounded and heal, God place your arms around those that lost and comfort and let them know that you are with them and are not leaving them. God you are our mi…

Day 4 November Photo Blog

Hello, hello. I hope everyone is doing well today. I know that I have had a terrific day today. Spent the biggest part of the day at a church function with my son and two of my lil cousins. It was such a blessing to be a part of that and be with some really great friends. Their church folk was just awesome.

But enough about all that. But being as I was there today, we did have what my photo needed today to eat.  Today's photo challenge was Comfort Food. Now I can honestly say that I love me some comfort food. There is so much that I can consider comfort food.  But mostly all of in the colder months of the year.  But there is nothing better than snuggling up somewhere and enjoying a warm bowl of soup.
Veggie soup that is with deer meat. Nothing any better. Well there are but you know what I mean.

Well that is all Folks for tonight. This woman is one tired woman. It's been a long day for us.

May blessing to you and yours.

Day 3 of November Photo Blog

Hello fellow friends. Here I go,,sharing once again, see I said that I would try to keep up. HA!!  But today is day 3 to share a photo. Lets see if i make it on to another day.

They asked for a winter pantry picture. I struggled with this picture. I will share why. When I think of all that the Lord has blessed me with food wise, I think of those that have not. Will it be boasting if I show a picture of my pantry? Will I be bragging?  I think not, but it still don't help my heart. Coming from a family that family meals was a big thing each night, and making sure that people had food and plenty of it "AT TIMES" was big. My grandma as soon as you stepped in her home she was offering you  food and drink. Here we are on day 3 and yes I decided to share that picture. This is just one of the cabinets in my home, as you can see it goes on back. I have three more doors just like this, that connects to this one and each is packed the same. Plus we canned food for winter that is in …

So here we are in November and I only made it through 19 days of October blogging along with the Blogtober blogging.  I got busy,,what can I say. I am certainly going to try and do my best to do and do the whole month.  We will see,,this begins a very busy month of the holiday seasons coming in. Life gets hectic sometimes and I tend to fall behind. But I am making a promise to TRY!!!! Even if I have to catch up a few days in one. HAHAA. Like tonight. So I am posting the picture of the 30 day challenge, day 1 and day 2.

This is from Mother Earth New magazine which I truly love love love. I learn so much from them,,(no this is not a affiliate shout out) it is just truth.

Day 1:: a cozy Spot,,my couch with a old quilt.

Day 2:: Handmade item,,a quilt I sewed for my daughter.

Instead of quilting it I tacked it with thread. It's made from bandannas.
