You never know....

What life will throw out at you. Where life will send you. Who life will let you meet.

It's strange how one day you are little and the earliest memory you can remember is one of yourself being a little baby in a car seat, and the next you are almost middle aged, married and a mother to two children and one in heaven. (possibly more, unknown) Health issues you never anticipated on having when you was young. Ailments that hurt now when you get up and move around. That is what life can throw at you.

Life has sent me as far as Georgia in the southern states, as far as Tennessee to the west and, Virginia in the north.  Haven't been anywhere exotic, and really have no desires to go there. Montana would be a great place to visit and I have often wondered about what it would be like to live there. Pennsylvania, is another place I would love to visit, not live though.  There are so many places I would like to visit, most here in my own state. I am not hard to please as far as that goes. So life can send you into different places at different times in your life.

The people we meet can sometimes be a good thing or a bad thing.  The ones that turn out good for you make lasting relationships, and even when time gets in the way you can reconnect just like it was yesterday. You never miss a beat and pick right back up. Then there are those that you think was a good thing and then you find out you need to cut ties. Well I have done my share of that. You meet those ones that start out good and then BAM you see this relationship is spiraling downward.  All you can do is let go. So that is who life can let you meet.

Hello my name is life. I give and you receive. I can also take and you will be left to deal.

Welcome to life!!

Best Friends Wedding

Me and Becky
Proverbs 18:22 “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favour of the LORD.”

On Saturday November 21, 2015 I was blessed to be a part of my best friends wedding. I have known her since third grade.

As we grew up, I moved on before high school was over and got married myself. I had my family and lived away from my home town for many years, twelve to be exact.  A few years after moving back to my hometown I reconnected with Becky. We have been inseparable since.  I have been with her through the ups and the downs as she has for me. I have watched her survive through her divorce, and grow stronger.

When she met Will, it was all of the sudden, but one I felt would be good for her.  I knew it would be just a matter of time. When she called me that Sunday and said are you sitting down, I knew there was something up. She told me how he had purposed to her and she had accepted it and the wedding was in a month.  Yep we threw this wedding together in a month. Hard to believe but we did it.  We went dress shopping, flower shopping and brides maid shopping. The month flew by. Will seemed to make her happy, so I never questioned the fast pace for this marriage. They are such a cute couple and I know that he will be a positive influence in her life as well as her children's life.  The main thing is that he has shown her that he will be there for her and he will go to church with her.  That was one of the main things that was important to my friend. She needs that reaction with church, she need that man that would be there with her in church.  I pray blessings over this union that I witnessed.  I pray the Lord will continue to let them grow as man and wife and let him grow as a father to her girls.
The wedding party, minus the flower girl and sign bearer.
As they grow and come to know each other more and more, I pray their love for each other will grow. God can do a mighty work if He is allowed to be in all.  Help, me to pray for this new union.
Beautiful family
Ephesians 5:33 - Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Their first toast as man and wife.
Matthew 19:4-6 “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

Do not, it will ruin my dress.

School is winding down for the Holidays

Well we have been having a blast so far with schooling. I haven't been pushing too hard, but we are making progress. My son is on a advanced level and he gets bored easily, so it is interesting to me to find things he is wanting to learn about.  Right now and as always, his interests still revolve around Dinosaurs, but I sneak other things in there too.  I have no clue as to when that will end, it's going on 4 yrs strong.  Learning comes so easy for him. So glad that it does.

With the holidays coming up we slow down on school work and go and learn in the field. We will be making several history field trips in the month of December. There is so many places just around here in my area, or with in a couple of hours away. With things being decorated for Christmas it make it even more interesting for me the mom.

A few of the places we will be visiting is:
Omni Grove Park INN for the annual Ginger Bread House competition displays.
The Thomas Wolfe Memorial for a tour of the writers home.
Vance Birthplace to tour the governors birth home.
Smith-McDowell House Asheville's first brick mansion.

These are just a few of the places we have in mind to visit. Did I mention it doesn't hurt that they will be decorated for Christmas.

I pray that you all have a great Thanksgiving this week and that those of you that do homeschool give your children a much needed break from school work, at least for a day or two.
