Love as stong as Solomon's

Once married you think that happiness is forever locked in. Right, don't bet your life on it.  But it can be, if built on the right model.
As I sat and read a magazine the other night before bed I came across a article on marriage.  It was how to keep things fresh in your marriage from a biblical point of view.  As I read down the normal list of things, like date nights, talking at least 15 minutes a day with each other, taking a nap together and so on, the one thing that stuck out was the Take some Time to Read Song of Solomon together.  Okay so I admit I never thought of doing that to keep things fresh in my marriage. It makes sense though. Think about how much the Shulamite woman loved Solomon and how much he loved her back. Think about what discussions could come from just reading that great love story.  Reading this together could open up all kinds of exciting areas in your marriage and keep it fresh and new at all times.

How awesome it would be to have a love that strong? Just think about reading that with your husband or wife.

What area's would it open up in your marriage?

Would it lead to conversations that would be otherwise left out?

Happiness comes in different forms, we have the feel-good happiness and the value-based happiness. The feel-good happiness is where you are doing things that feel good at the time and enjoying it for the moment.  Value-based is more on the lines of spiritual thinking.

Would reading Song of Solomon with your husband or wife open you up to a more Valued-based marriage?

Is valuing happiness in your marriage and feeling the love that Solomon and the Shulamite woman had being selfish? A husband and wife should connect the way these two people did. They should have that love and longing to be with each other.  Solomon and the Shulamite woman had a deeper connection and a sense of shared meaning. In Song of Solomon 7:10 it says I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.  She is representing herself as a true wife, whose husband is wrapt up in her love. She was the desires of his eyes.

How many marriages still have that kind of desire?

Do you have a marriage that you both want to be wrapt up in each other?

Do not let distractions get in the way of your happiness, go ahead and give this a try. Read Song of Solomon and see. But remember to read it together and discuss it. I know it will lead you to great happiness.  What kind of greatness in your marriage will you pursue today?  Are you up for the challenge? Get reading! I am sure you will find that kind of strong love in your marriage.

Studying is time well Spent

For the past several months I have been studying Revelations in the bible.  This book of the bible is really a hard book to study. It is all about what is to come for us in the future and will come to pass.  As I have been studying the churches in Revelation, my eyes have been opened to many things in our churches.  Many issues that have happened in our present day churches was happening in the churches of John's day.  Just when you feel as though there is now hope for your church or for a church around you, go look in at the churches in the bible.  You will find the same kinds of problems, and the promises that Jesus promised each one of them if they turned and did what they wanted them to do.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Pray for your church, and Pray for your Pastor daily if not several times a day.  Your pastor is dealing with the same kinds of situations the leaders of the churches were dealing with in Revelation.  There is nothing new in our churches that Jesus has not already dealt with. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.

Ephesians 3:14-21King James Version (KJV)

14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Where has everyone's praise went to? While looking around me I see sorrow, doubt, fear and much more. But as for Praise, there is hardly any showing anywhere.  When we awake in the mornings before our feet even hit the floor we should give the Lord praise for waking us up one more time.  When we set our feet on the ground for the first time in the morning we should thank Him for allowing us to walk once again.  Praise doesn't always have to be because of a happy event that has happened.  I see more and more people giving praise because a prayer was answered, or test results came back clean, and in just different things. But what about the everyday things, the things that we are given everyday and do not think on it enough to even offer praises? The bible says in :

Hebrews 13:15 - By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

See we are to continually give praise to him.  Not just when the good comes.  But also in the bad situations or the everyday situations.

Head-coverings! Is the topic.

Head-coverings. This has been a topic laying on my heart for a long time now and it just keeps growing. In the bible, in the book of

1 Corinthians 11: 5  But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

11:6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

So you see Paul is speaking here about how a woman should cover her head when she prays or prophesies or she should be shaven.   But then,

1 Corinthians 11:13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

Paul is asking a question here also about head-coverings.  He asks is it comely?  Lets see what that word "Comely" means.  Lets look to the Strong's Concordance for what the Greek word is for "Comely" in this question.  The Greek word is πρέπω meaning prepó (prep'-o) a verb meaning "tower up," "be conspicuous," – properly, stand out, be conspicuous, especially in a way that is suitable ("fitting").

So Paul is saying,, "Is it proper, or fitting for a woman to pray uncovered?"   So you see here it suggest that we as women should cover our heads when we are praying or prophesies. But then he goes on to say in

1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

Paul tells us here that her hair is "given her for a covering." In the Greek the word is περιβόλαιον, ου, τό meaning peribolaion  (per-ib-ol'-ah-yon) a noun meaning "a wrapper, mantle, veil, cloak, covering".

So if our hair means that we are covered and when I pray my hair falls down around my face and I am covered, does that mean that I still need something other than my hair to also cover my head?  You see I have been struggling with this for sometime.  I do not always wear my hair down, so when I pray at times my face is not covered. I am bowed with my face down but not covered.

I have friends that wear coverings and they do it because it is God's calling not only from this passage of scripture but because God has called them to do so, or because it is what is done by women in their families (their Belief).  They are beautiful in their coverings but is it what the Lord wants from all women?

Praying the Lord will show me the way on this, as He always leads me.

Field Trips this Summer

Me and my little boy have been on a few trips this summer.  All of them day trips and mostly free.  Exploring is what we do the best.  He has such a since of freedom in the great outdoors.  The bible tells us to raise them in the way they should go. So I am hoping that I will be able to do that. His father and I are sure trying our best to accomplish this by showing him different things around us and having him to appreciate all that God has to offer.  Here are a few pictures of the day trips this summer.

Crabtree Falls in Mitchell County, NC

The falls here are beautiful. The hike down to the falls, depending on which way you go in to them will determine your hike.  There is two trails that lead down to the falls.  One of the trails is rocky and not so flat, but its always been the best one for us to travel. The other trail is flat until you come to the end of it and then its a downward hike off the side of the mountain, with not much of a trail.  We had a great day and enjoyed the trail and waterfall.

 Grandfather Mountain in NC

This is not a free trip but is was to me because of group rates and homeschooling.  So glad we are blessed that way. Anyways, this is a beautiful place to visit.  The views are amazing as you can see from the pictures. The bridge you see here is one mile high in the air.  Scary, yes it is scary to cross it but worth it.

One of the views  from the mountain.  Isn't it gorgeous?

This is a tree cyst, after they took it off one of the trees on the mountain and cleaned it up this is what it looked like inside.  I thought it was beautiful.

So there you have it, just a couple of the trips that we have taken this summer.  It may not look like much to some but to us, it was a lot.  Enjoy what the Lord has for you in each and every day. I urge you to get out and enjoy his beauty that is around you.  You'll be surprised in what you ay discover.

My prayer is that you will be challenged to get out and explore the world around you and enjoy time with your family as long as you have it.

Well here I am at it again.  I don't write often but when I do its because I have something that I need to share. Today I am  going to be writing about blessings.  I go through everyday and don't even realize what blessing are being bestowed upon me daily.  I don't go throughout the day looking for them, that is for sure.  But I see them when my day is done and thank the Lord for giving them to me.

What is a blessing? Merriam-Websters defines it as....
: approval that allows or helps you to do something
: help and approval from God
: something that helps you or brings happiness

Blessings can come in all shapes and forms.  It can come in as praise, devotion, worship, grace, mercy, a divine gift, or even a special favor.

One of my favorite bible verses is this Philippians: 4:19 But MY God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Jesus Christ.

Our every need has been supplied throughout every day. There has been nothing that hasn't been taken care of.  We worry about things and then the Lord works them out for us.  We have often wanted for more, but always received exactly what we needed, nothing less and nothing more, Except what he has blessed us with.

This morning I read this:: When we remember that our strength is a result of God’s grace, that keeps us humble. It went along with my blessings, for his grace is one of those blessings.  When I think back on my day and see that it's by his grace that I am alive, it's by his riches I am fed (physical and spiritual), It is then that I see just how many blessing I do receive.

When your down and out, sit back, and look at what is around you and what your being blessed with.  It's those little things that you don't realize that matters the most when you see them.

My prayer is that your home will be filled with many blessings, in an abundance, through HIS riches by Jesus Christ.

It's God's love!

Today as I was awoken by the beautiful sun peeping through my bedroom curtains, the love of God was brought to me in my thoughts.  For it is only that He loves us that we are awoken each and every morning and given a new day.  I see his love for us in all that is around me.  Be it in the colors of the sky, the land, the trees, the grass, the flowers, the animals, the people and so much more.

In the bible we are told in Jeremiah  31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.  His love is an everlasting love, there is no other kind of love that is like that.  You will not find a love anywhere that will even match His love for us by even an inch of measure. The love that God has for us is far beyond our comprehension.

Think about this, God loved us so much that he gave His son for our sins. God even loves us when we are being disobedient. Read over in Hebrews 12 to see how His love for us motivates His discipline for us as well.  We as humans respect our parents when they discipline us, with that being said should we not respect and follow God's training us with more respect? Our earthy fathers discipline only hurts for a short time, and they do what they feel is best in our lives, but God's discipline for us is always right and on time when needed.  His love always is there through the good, the bad, and the ugly.  It is more than any of our circumstances, He covers them all with His love.  1Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

So remember that He is always with you no matter what and His love is never ending for you.  Psalms 42:8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

It is so good to know that God loves me in the day time and at night time, as I pray unto Him.

My prayer is that this post will be of some help to someone, I pray that if someone has no one to love that they will know that God loves them. Amen.

This week in our Pre-school Journey

This past week was a great week for us on our pre-schooling journey.  We went and visited our local caverns.  The cavern is called Linville Cavern, it is located in McDowell County NC. It was discovered by a man named Henry E. Colton in the early 1800's while on a fishing trip.  The inside is beautiful.  Filled with stalactites, running water, a bottomless pool, and even bats in the winter months.

Also this week we got in quiet a few books in for reading.  My little one loves to read. I am glad that he does, I am excited to learn him to read. We are already practicing with stories that have clue pictures of the words. He loves that, and it gets him involved with the story as well.  The books we read this week are listed below.

1. Yertle the Turtle and other stories
2. Chicka Chicka 123
4.Kate and the Beanstalk

My prayer is this will be of help to you in some way to get you reading with your little ones and to go exploring.

Its been a while

Hey there all, its been a few months since I sat down and actually wrote anything in this blog. I was thinking about just getting rid of this since I never really use it, but the Lord spoke to my heart and I know that I can use it to be of some good to someone out there that may not know Christ.  I am forever running across blogs of people that help me, so I am praying this blog will do the same thing for someone. Being busy as I am, makes it hard to sit down sometimes and write.  I love to write, and put my words out on something that I can see and read for myself.  I have several pen-pals and I enjoy writing to them, however it is sporadic.   Life happens to us all. Sometimes our lives get busier than they should be. The bible says in:

Proverbs 23:4  Labor not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom

I can assure you that  I am not being busy because of getting rich.  I take things upon myself mostly for what we call around here a "good ol' boy deed".  In other words I help people because it is in my nature to do so. I am a servant, always have been.  Not for payment either. The bible says in:

Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Which means I have a yearning for compassion, and its not merely an act, but in my spirit and affection.  My heart is filled full of compassion for those that I serve.  With meekness, because it is one of the traits that God has, I am to make an effort to make it a part of me also. To be a servant you must be able to humble yourself. It doesn't come naturally, it is a trait that is to be worked on; for our pride gets in the way most times.  We must bring ourselves low in order to get to that place where we can serve.

So if I get to busy to write, just know that somewhere in this world I am helping someone that needs that little extra care.  Pray for me, and I will pray for you.

What Christ did for Me

With Easter around just a few days away, let me share with you what Christ did for me.  In a little area of  Western North Carolina, at a baptist church called Chestnut Grove Baptist, I received my salvation.  The year was 1991and I was 14yrs old.  I was with friends at this church and prayer had taken place at the alter, because church was ending. Alter call had been given and several people had went down to the alter.  One of the people that I was with had called my name out in prayer and I heard it, I was being rebellious, I didn't move to go to the alter.  Someone was calling my name out in prayer. The prayers in the church had gotten intense and all I wanted to do was leave.  I didn't want to be there. What I did next was try to run out the back of the church, but before I could get to the door to go out the Holy Spirit had stopped me in my tracks and I fell to my knees at a pew in the back of the church and accepted Christ as my savior.  The preacher and his wife both prayed with me there at that pew in the back of the church.  I accepted Christ into my heart. Its not a grand story, but its my testimony, and its a grand one to me.  I am not going to tell you life has been all peaches and cream to me.  I have fallen short many, many, many times and will continue to do so throughout my lifetime.  What Christ gave me sure was sweet though, and He accepts me.

You see just when you think you can keep running the Holy Spirit comes by and stops you from running anymore.  My heart was broken that night, as I allowed the love of Christ to flow into me.  Christ went through what all He had to endure for me, He bore each and every strip of that cat of nine tails on His flesh for me.  Each step he took up Calvary's hill he did so for me.  As they nailed Him to the cross, each time the hammer drove them nails into his hands and feet it was for me.  When they pierced His side it was for me.  Its hard to wrap my mind around all that he did for me, someone one who is not worth all that much.  But GOD said "I was" and that means the world to me and much more.  Listen to this song, this is how I feel.  Who Am I by Casting Crowns.  These lyrics speak mountains to me::: Not because of who I am,
But because of what You've done.  Not because of what I've done  But because of who You are.

If you don't know Christ, I am begging you to go searching for Him, let Him do for you what he has done for me.  He is never to far from you.  Romans 10:13 says For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  That means you.  Just call out to Him and ask for forgiveness and ask him to save your soul from the retched Hell that your in today.  If you want your life to be filled with sweetness and to always know that there is one that will always be there for you through thick and thin, just call out to Jesus.

My prayer is that if your lost, that you will be found, if your hurting you, will have no pain, and if your in need of a friend you will look no further but to HIM. That you will become His, In Jesus name I pray these things for you.  Amen!

When in DOUBT!

Hey y'all, its been a few weeks since I have written, but its been a tough few weeks for me.  Busy, Busy. Busy is all I seem to be.  I want to talk to you about a little word, that has a big meaning to some.  That word is DOUBT!  Lets look at the meaning of that word :::  Fear, Suspect, to lack confidence.  So you see it does have big meanings that can turn into a big problem.  The devil gets on to me at times and makes me doubt the things that I want to accomplish.  I know that I can do them but when he gets in my head and tells me those little lies, its hard not to believe him.

But let me show you what my Lord tells me, He says in
Romans 14:23 - And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

So this really gets me, Where is my faith when the devil is bothering me?  It is not where it needs to be. I have a few things on my heart that the Lord is wanting me to do.  But every time I come to a place where I want to act on them, that old devil comes around and says, "you cant do that, you will be no good at it".  I know that the Lord says that doubt will be dammed.  If I don't have faith it is a sin.

I know that I am not the only one that has problems with this, and I won't be the last.  I am so glad that the bible also tells me that in Proverbs 3:5-8 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

So thankful that when in doubt I can lean on the Lord for my trust and understanding.  So thankful that I can tell the devil to get hinder and  he leaves me be.  Please don't let your doubt get in the way of what you want to do. Keep the devil at bay, and Trust the Lord to show you the way.

The wife your Suppose to be

Here I go again on my little soapbox that is getting bigger and bigger each and every day.  But here goes.

Women if your married to a loving husband, one that provides for you, takes care of your every need, you never worry about the bills, or your children, THEN WHY,,OH WHY are you not being a wife to your husband??

There is one thing I know for a fact and that is when you said those little vows to one another it wasn't just for when you want it to be.  Let me explain myself just a little here.  The bible says in Ephesians 5:22-33 - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.  Do you see that women?? Read it again carefully. There is alot to be said here in this verse but the one thing that I am getting at from it is to SUBMIT. There are several areas that a wife should submit to her husband, one of them is intimacy. That is a big one girls. A happily married man is happy in all areas of his marriage. Who invented the marriage bed? GOD is who.

In 1 Corinthians 7: 3-5 it says
3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. 5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

My soapbox is about those wives that feel its ok "Not" to be intimate with their husbands.  If you read the verses above you see that you are to be intimate with you husband and he with you.  Its all part of the plan that God give between a man and a woman.  The only time your not to share intimacy is when you have both agreed to be apart for a time, but here is the condition """ you are to be in prayer and fasting during this time""".  Now Ladies I ask you, " Are you in prayer and fasting?"  I do not think most of you are.  I have heard some women say " I just have no desire for intimacy with my husband".. Nuhhh uhhh that's a no, no.
If you want to know why you and your husband is not getting along this could be the problem.  I have heard women say " I'm to tired to show him any attention" or " He shows me no attention". Guess what ladies, If its attention that your desiring, you ever think maybe he is too?  That attention thing works both ways.  My biggest pet peeve is when a woman just stops trying at all and when the marriage falls apart it never was anything to do with the marriage bed (unless cheating was there, a whole other subject) and how there was no intimacy.  The bible states you are not over your own body but the man is and you are over his.  The attraction you felt when you first got married is still there ladies. Just because you have grown  up, or older or whatever excuse you have, IT"S STILL THERE!!  You must find ways to ensure that you are showing you husband that you love him this way.  I am sure he will do the same.  It doesn't always have to be sexual, but just a kind touch, or word sometimes says "I Love You".  That however doesn't mean for you to leave the sexual part out of it.  God did not intend for us to be married and have no intimacy.  Come together as one as the bible says in Ephesians 5:22-33
5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

This is the end to my soapbox today.  I hope that by reading this that someone out there will see that intimacy is a vital part of a marriage. Don't let the devil get in the way of you being intimate to you husband. He tries hard to destroy the marriage anyways, so don't give in to him.

My prayer today is that I may be of a help by writing what God would have me to share with you, I pray that you will return to the original marriage plan, and heal what need to be healed in your marriage. Amen

Have you witnessed lately?

Has the Lord ever told you to go and witness to someone and you just didn't bother with it?  As I was sitting here today, I got to thinking about witnessing.  That is a dying art it seems to me.  You don't hear of people much going out and witnessing to their neighbors anymore.  Churches don't get out and go to peoples houses and try and invite or witness to them anymore.  When I was growing up I knew of several churches here in my area that got out on Saturdays and went around to the local housing complexes and invited people to come to church and told them of the church van and said they would come and pick them up.  I rode a church van to the first church that I can remember going to. But it seems like less and less people are spreading the gospel anymore.

The Gospel means the teaching or revelation of Jesus Christ. The bible teaches in Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Why are we not going out and teaching about Jesus to our neighbors anymore?

Here is where I would like to brag on my pastor and my church just a little.   My pastor goes out every Saturday if he is not sick or working all day and visits the people in our church that may be sick or just not been to church in a while. Sometimes some of the men from the church will go with him sometimes he goes alone.  He talks to them about Jesus and what the bible says, and invites them to church.  If we know of someone that could benefit from a visit from him all we have to do is ask for them to go and visit that person.  I thank God for a pastor that will work for the church in all things.

So back to my original question, Has God ever told you to go and witness?  I know he has several times to me.  I always gave an excuse in the past, but here it seems as I grow more and more in the Lord he is impressing upon me to go and witness to those that may need to hear it.  He wants me to be a light in someones life.  If I can do just that one small thing for Him, it still wouldn't repay what He did for me!  Witnessing can be as simple as calling someone and sharing the word with them, visiting someone and talking with them about the word, or handing out tracks with the word in it to passerby's.  As for me; I am going to try better in doing my witnessing.  Lets try and knock on more doors this year, Whose with me?  Prayers would be appreciated for me as I do as the Lord would have me do.

My prayer is that this post will inspire someone to go and do for the Lord. May God bless you.

Snakes!!! In our Church.

There are all sorts of different types of people in our churches. But the one that gets to me the most is the ones that use Christianity to hide their true natures.  You know the ones. The ones that say "Hey let me tell you something about so and so". The ones that just about break their necks to get to you, so that you will know what they know.  Those are the snakes that I am talking about.  Now I can't say that I have never been pulled in by one of the snakes cause I have.  In the past that is.  I learned how to recognize them as soon as I lay eyes on them now. By this recognition, I steer clear of them now days.  Not saying their may be one sneak in unaware, but that's a whole other topic. They can have a pretty face and sweet smile or an assuring look and make you see what they think you should see, and by the time its over everything has been turned upside down and they are not at fault.  Today I learned of one of those people, they put their-self out there, and gave them-self away.  I am praying the one that they showed their-self to will also see the kind of person they are and put them away.  Christians, I am asking you to be careful about who you align yourself up with.  Your friends weigh alot more on you then you think. But in the end its you that will always get hurt. That so called Christian will offer all kinds of information but when the going gets tough, they are out.  Now my bible says in

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

So you see folks, nothing can come to hurt you because if your a child of God he has given you the power to tread on serpents, and over all the power your enemy may possess. God controls it all. He tells us to crush it under our feet. Not to let it effect us. In doing so you will not let the enemy win.

My prayer is that we Christian will not let the enemy destroy what we have been building up.

Terry T-Rex and his travels!

The package that came home with Terry  T-Rex
from Tennessee
Hey guess what?? Do you know what a flat traveler is?  Well let me tell you a little about it.  There is a set of books called Flat Stanley and the books are about a little boy who gets flattened and decides to mail himself across the country.  So here came the idea that someone had to do just that. Let kids make Flat Stanley's and mail them to friends that would take them on adventures around the world.  And this is where we come in at.

What our Journal looks like. It has 2 pages
that the host family tells facts about their state,
and 8 pages to tell of their adventure's with Terry.
We have been participating in a group that supports Flat Travelers and connects them with new friends to mail them to. Since I am pre-schooling my son, we made a flat traveler.  His name is Terry T- Rex, and he is a baby tyrannosaurus dinosaur. Since my son loves dinosaurs this fit perfect.  We made a journal to send along to the host family with information about Terry T-Rex and we send a introduction letter with our beliefs in where the dinosaurs come in at in the bible.  The host family fills out the journal by telling us about their state and by telling us what they have done with Terry each day to make his visit fun.  They send back the flat dino and the journal to us along with whatever else they want to send back to us as far as learning materials goes.  They exchange picture of the dino doing things with them.  I am going to be putting a scrapbook together about each travel for my son.  Its not only fun but a learning experience because we can go and learn about the different things each family does with our dino.  So far our Terry has went to Tennessee, Michigan, and Georgia.  He stays for 8 days and comes home. I am very thankful to those host families for participating.

host family took him to in

I have yet to host a flat traveler, but I am waiting for someone to ask us too. Below is some pictures. Enjoy and I hope you become interested in doing that with your family.  If so just ask and I will point you in the right direction to finding out how.

My prayer is that this post will bless someone and encourage you to do something fun with your children.  Help them to learn about other places by making it fun. God Bless!!

Today in Pre-school Learning

Well we did a little bit of schooling today.  It was a short day of learning but we got it in. Oh and Q surprised me, he knew the clock said 7 o'clock. I was very impressed and we haven't even really discussed clocks or time.  To be almost 4yrs old in a few days, that is smart I think.

Anyways we watched 4 videos today on YouTube about animals. The first was on Rock Climbing Goats then we went to the Pangolin, on to the Echidna, and lastly we watches the Gelada Monkey.  He picked out the videos he wanted to watch and then we talked about them as we watched them.  Q loves animals. Any kind of animals.

Our devotion today was from Jonah chapters 1-4 and from Hebrews 1:1-2,  1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

We read our story from The Jesus Storybook Bible  It was called God's Messenger, and was about Jonah. We took away from this story to Never run from God.  Q also had to read about Daniel and the lions den today and we took away from that story to Never pray to anyone one BUT God!  We put a puzzle together about Jonah and the Big Fish also.
Q's puzzle we put together. Jonah and the Big Fish.

Today was a great day in the pre-schooling business. It wasn't a long day but a short one for schooling here, but we had fun doing it.

On another note, our traveling flat T-Rex is enjoying Michigan, while visiting friends.

My prayer is that we have blessed someone today with what we are learning. May God be with you all.

The start of the New Year!

I haven't written in a while, so this will be brief. My family and i started off this New Year by being in a church service to ring in the new year beginning. My husband was invited to preach at this service. Even had he not been invited to preach we would have still been in a church service somewhere that night. As the old saying goes "What you do on New Years Eve when 12 midnight hits, is what you will be doing all year." So I guess me and my family will be in church all year. The bible says in Psalms 100:2 - Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.  That is what we did in that church service we sang and praised the Lord.

I am so glad that the Lord impressed it upon mine and my husbands heart to take our children to church. Maybe what we are doing will in some way rub off on our children and instead of being out partying on New Years Eve somewhere they will want to be in church also.  Acts 16:25 - And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.  Isn't wonderful to know that you can sing praises unto HIM and be heard.  There was sixty seven people that showed up to attend Watch Service. Church let out at 1 am.  Such a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit was felt.  I know lots got help that night. Hoping to ring in another year doing the same.

Sitting and waiting for all to get to the church so we could start.

Talking with friends before service.

So what was you doing on New Years Eve?  This is what I was doing.  May you have blessings from this post. Until next time, God Bless.
