Math, such a small four letter word, for such big Problems!

Today I had my wonderful students again for their weekly math lessons. Its so funny cause when you tell them how much they have to do, they just look at you with a blank look like "DO What??".

We had three different math's going on. The girls are real troopers though. Patient with each other until I could get to the next one.

For the youngest girl I used worksheets from Math-Drills. She is working on refreshing up on 3-digit minus 3-digit Subtraction. Next week we will be adding a 4-digit Subtraction. That should have her refreshed enough to go on to the next level which will be Multiplication.

The middle girl is working on Pre-Algebra and we are using Landmark Freedom Baptist Curriculum. I really enjoy using their curriculum. It is so easy to follow and it explains each sections in terms that they can understand it on their own. We worked on Division by Primes, Factoring Trees, Common Factors(gcf), Multiples (lcm) and Proper, Improper and Whole Fractions. She did a great job once she got the hang of what she was doing. Pre-algebra is working out great so far. Next week we will be working on more Fractions.

The oldest girl is working on Business Math until January and then its Geometry. We are using Landmark Freedom Baptist for this also. She is doing great. Doesn't like the reading part to find out how to do the math but it's going great. Today we worked on Percentages P=BxR, R=P/B, Rounding Money, Depreciation Value, and Interest. Next week we will be covering Expenses, Mileage and Income.

As for my little man, he did some painting while the girls worked on math and worked with drawing on his magnet sketch pad. Today was a easy day for him. He is starting to do the beginning reading though, I am one proud mommy. He reads it to me and gets most of the story correct. I have started pointing to words and having him tell me what they are. So far, he has got all of them. I know its from memory, but hey that's a start and a "dern" good one too.

All in all it was a good day. Everyone participated and worked consistently to get finished. Thankful for KJV verses that get us through the school work each and every day.

Proverbs 14:23 - In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

and this one also,

James 1:4 - But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
